Koveda’s Tuck

Sire: unknown Alaskan Husky

Dam: unknown Alaskan Husky

DOB: Sepember 2006

Position: Retired Leader

Status: Neutered

Tuck came to me with a number of dogs from the the Taylor family.  He had bounced around a few kennels before then.  He ran lead/team for me as my team was developing.  He also spent a season doing tours with Ken at Peacepups Dogsledding.  Being a big guy,  he slowed down pretty early, and retired around age 9.  He is one of those dogs that would glue himself to you if he could.  He also has a howl that could put any hound dog to shame.

Sibersong’s I am Jinx

Sire:  Kelim’s Dodge Viper

Dam: Kelim-Thesewood’s Sibersong Magik

DOB: October 27, 2008

Position: Team/ Leader in training

Status: Intact

Jinx is a very pretty girl.  She is a little shy and submissive with people.  She is not a super confident dog, but she works well.  As a puppy she was yappy and oh, so difficult to catch!  With maturity, she has gotten much calmer, quieter.  She has also learned to go to her kennel, or me,  when asked to.  If you take a few minutes to get to know her, she is very sweet.  She has had some time up front, but tends to work better in team.  I think she is built beautifully, and she will be considered for future breeding.

Koveda’s Sidd

Sire: Unknown Alaskan husky

Dam: Unknown Alaskan Husky

DOB: July 4, 2007

Position: Team/ Leader in Training

Status: Neutered

Sidd joined the kennel based solely on looks.  He was a super funny looking puppy, so unlike any of our other dogs.  He was all legs, neck and ears.  He turned out to be pretty handsome, though he does resemble a meerkat.  I had originally had hopes of him being a house dog, but he preferred to hang out in the kennel.  He is not always a consistent worker, but we keep working at it.  When he is “on” he does very well, it is just that some days I swear his head is on backwards because his pointy little nose is constantly craned around looking at the sled.  Oh well, the passengers always think it is hilarious.  “Look at that one, he always looks back at you!”

Secondwind’s Shiver of Koveda

Sire: Chlout’s Streak of Velikaya

Dam: Chlout’s Zunie of Velikaya

DOB: July, 21, 2010

Position: Puppy

Status: intact

Shiver is the perpetual bouncing ball, nothing like her 1/2 sister Blossom.  This dog never sits still, is always go, go, go.  I don’t think I have ever seen her sleep!  It makes me a little nuts sometimes, but I think that is going to translate into amazing things in harness.  Her early puppy runs have been a good indication of that.

Aniscar’s Organic Coal

Sire: Chlout’s Victor of Velikaya

Dam: Secondwind’s Swift River

DOB: April  , 2008

Position: Lead/Team

Status: Neutered

Coal is a very cool dog.  He came to the kennel in December 2010 at 3 years old.  I was particularly interested in him as he is Critter’s sire.  Also because he is extra handsome!  He is easy going and quiet (ok, except for hook up, then he has quite a unique voice.)  He is a fairly serious dog, especially in harness.  He has a job to do and he is very focused on getting down the trail.  Coal has been taking regular turns at lead this winter, and has been great.

Aniscar’s Captain Crunch

Sire:  Chlout’s Axle of Velikaya

Dam:  Chlout’s Bess of Velikaya

DOB: August 19, 2009

Position: Team, Leader in training

Captain came to the kennel as a yearling.  He is a little weird, sort of like a tall, goofy cat.  He is very sweet and quiet, and did I mention goofy?  He loves to roll around on his head, seems he spends as much time on the ground as he does standing!  Captain is a leader in training, and he’s looking good so far.  We’ll see what some maturity does for this guy!

Aniscar’s Who’s Your Sugar Daddy

Sire: Kiana’s Diesel of Aniscar

Dam: Ka-Bi’s Pussy Willow

DOB: July 11, 2008

Position: Leader

Status: Intact

Trasher was a new addition to the kennel in December 2010.  She is a sweet dog with plenty of Siberian mischief twinkling in those little eyes.  She is small, but one heck of a worker.  She is super smart and is becoming one of my stronger leaders.  Trash-Dog is awesome!

Koveda’s Pai Mei

Sire: Northrunner’s Schumacher

Dam: Chlout’s Blossom of Velikaya

DOB: April 9, 2010

Position: Puppy

Status: Neutered

Pai Mei means (roughly translated) “white eyebrow” so I thought the name fit this little monster to a T.  He is the lightest of the pups.  He also seems to be one of the smartest of the bunch. Unfortunately, he IS the loudest, but I’m hoping that with a little maturity and a whole lot of not getting what he wants ’til he’s quiet, the noise level will fade.

Koveda’s Black Mamba

DOB: April 9, 2010

Sire: Northrunner’s Schumacher

Dam: Chlout’s Blossom of Velikaya

Position: Puppy

Mamba is the most reserved of the Schu X Bloss kids, but that doesn’t make her shy.  She is the smallest girl, but she talks big.

Koveda’s Sofie Fatale

DOB: April 9, 2010

Sire: Northrunner’s Schumacher

Dam: Chlout’s Blossom of Velikaya

Position: Puppy

Sofie is the wildest puppy in the litter.  She looks a lot like her big sister Critter and Momma Blossom, but her personality is much more like her Daddy Schu!
